cleaning wheels
I have installed my winter wheels and tires and as I put away my summer set, I'd like to clean and wax the wheels. What does everyone recommend?

simple green with a brush to remove dirt and brake dust (scrub the tires too). then.....
wash them with any kind of car wash. then you can use about any wax on them (i assume they're painted). i find a spray on wax works well ( i recommend maguiar's), it lets you spray it then wipe it around to cover everything. then wipe the wax off. treat the tires with any treatment you like (both side and the tread).
if the wheels are metal (make sure they aren't clearcoated over the metal), then you do the same swapping the wax for a metal polish. this will take alot more effort than painted wheels.
if they are clear coated over the metal, do the same as painted.
following this takes time, but really makes a difference.
