CGT front spring swap
What have/has anyone done if swapping in a different spring into the front of a CGT(SB or otherwise)?
I suspect I have a broken passenger front spring on the CGT. It's got a lean to it. I'm gonna get it up in the air and take a look to see what's up. I have a ton of spring sets and just wondering what would be the best option to swap-in. I'm not sure if any of them are from a 4k or not.

Back in the day we were lowering a lot of early 90's Porsche C2's ,the stock front springs that we removed would bolt right in as long as you replace the top spring retainer with one from a Porsche 944 .We did this to a 5+5 my GT coupe and also a couple 4000Q's .It had a slightly lower ride height also was a little stiffer.

You can use any 80/90 springs AFAIK. I dropped a 90 spring in temporarily when one of mine broke. Generally the top coil snaps and drops to the bottom spring perch and you get a clank over bumps.

Thanks for the advice guys. I found a friend with a 4k fwd that he going to part I can get the srpings out of. I just need to get him to get with the project and start in on it.
I have a lot of 90Q/CQ springs but was wondering if the ride height or stiffness would be off. I do know the dimensions are right, but the rate might be too much since they are off a Q.

I think the one I dropped in was from a q but not 100% sure now. It was a little stiffer but a nice change. When you think about it, the front end weight of quattros and FWD 5 cylinder B2's and B3's are probably not much different anyways.

I have bunches of Q springs lying around. Stiffer wouldn't be a bad thing, but I am more worried about ride height.
After I get the A6 off the lift, maybe I'll just throw them on and see what it does.
