Default Good, but a couple of errors that I saw...

All coupes post 1985 had Girling G54 front calipers and 10.1 brakes, not just the 87.5. You list the color trim, mirrors and spoilers and 87.5 identifiers, but the 86 CE also came in the same colors, also with color trim, spoiler and mirrors. I haven't yet seen a post 85 US spec GT without power locks.

Also, while I don't discredit you, I find it hard to believe that 20 hp cut 1.5 seconds off the 0-60 times....where are you getting those 7.8/7.9 to 60mph numbers?

All in all, a great article.

Default You can't really fault him, he just plagiarized off a website w/o checking facts

Default Umm...actually...(my rebuttal)

I helped write that page long ago.

But the brake thing is accurate...it's indicating that the 4-wheel disk brakes are unique...not that the sizes of the front brakes are unique. The size stuff is simply informational.

True about the CE and body color parts...I goofed/forgot.

As the article said...it's TIMED 0-60 (as in I had it times by a friend...average of a 2-way run. Also, that's about what the R&T test of the car said back in 1987. It's not just 130 hp that makes the difference...it's the 140 ft. lbs. of torque that help. Just a little more power makes a lot of differnce...remember these cars are light. Around #2,500 or 22.72 pounds per hp for the 2.2 and 19.23 pounds per hp for the 2.3...which is almost the same hp to weight ratio as an UrQ which should do 0-60 in 7.5 sec in stock 156hp format.

I'm saying world wide numbers...not the imported numbers...

Default Ahha.

So when are we drag racing, then?

I'm aware of the torque and power specs of both motors, but (from experience) a passenger is not an accurate timing device :-) I seem to recall my friend timing 0-60 ~8.5 seconds in my old autobox GT that was stock. That's around 2 seconds off the listed time.

I wasn't saying that you were wrong on the brakes, but you can't list the fronts as a unique feature when they aren't - just a note. Of course, on the rears you're onto something, but it would have been akin to you listing galvanized bodies or digital dash as unique features as well.

Sorry, we're nit-picking now, but as a defender of the pre-"special build" GT honor, it's my job to shoot holes in why those GTs are so special.
