Default Electrical problem ? ?.....

Ok ...here it is.... In my 1981 Audi 4000 5cyl, 5spd...when ever I turn something on (blinkers, front lights or even the electric fan - activated by the relay) all the arrows on the gauges (battery / oil pressure / oil temp) start moving....so when the blinkers are on...the gages go left and right... : ). And if I press on the brake pedal everything dims a bit.

New battery, good alternator (second one, same thing) ....

Did anyone have this happen to their car? What should I do...?

Thanks for any help...

PS...I've been driving that car for 4 years like that ... lol

Start checking your grounds. Look for loose and corroded wires, thats usually the problem.

sometimes what looks like a good conection is not as ther is hidden corrostioni n the crimped clip. Especially in your main bround wihre back to the battery. German wireing, got to love it LOL.
