1)Pop out the cover for the arm rest handle - there is a screwdriver hole in the bottom

2)Unscrew the two exposed screws

3)Remove arm rest handle

4)Remove trim piece that the top part of arm rest handle was inserted into. I believe that you will need to rotate it out.

5)Move the door latch towards the front of the car, pull it away from the door slightly, and pop out the connecting linkage - held in with a clip.

6)Remove door latch

7)Find and remove screw that was hidden under door latch!!!!!!

8) Remove 2 screws (front and rear) securing panel to door jam sides (top of panel on sides).

9)Lift door panel straight up - only up. ONLY UP! Give it a decent thump up. (up up up)

10)When loose, disconnect wiring harnesses, etc..

I can't remember if the window needs to be down or not.

This is from memory, I may have skipped something. Others can advise, I am sure.

I did this on my 96A6 recently to change out a speaker.

Did I mention that the panel should only be lifted up?
