Default Transmission shift points.

I have a 1995 audi A6 avant, 6cly auto. I am finding that the transmission does not shift correctly under normal driving conditions. while driving slow, it always trys to shift early into 3rd and 4th. When aggressively driving, the car shifts perfect. I know there is a way to recode the transmission, but can't find an alternate code. Can anyone give me some guidance to try to get this resolved?

Get your radio code, then disconnect the battery for a few hours. It'll relearn the shift points based on your driving habits.

If that doesn't work, you can try getting a VAG cable and pulling transmission codes to see if maybe there's an electrical problem.

Ok will do. I did reset my adaptations with my launch scanner. Is that basically doing the same thing as disconnecting the battery?
