Default Snow and slush of Northern Wisconsin. A6Q are...

AWESOME!!!

I know you all know this already, but I just couldn't be happier with our 1997 A6Q Avant after our "Spring" break to Northern Wisconsin last week (Kids have named this A6 "Gretchen").

We went to Manitowish Waters/Mercer area. It snowed about 14 inches (wet heavy stuff) on Monday the 31st. Family has a cabin up there. Shared gravel/sand/dirt driveway to the cabin is about a quarter mile long. It was gone over once with a plow but still had 4 to 6 inches on it.

Gretchen slipped and slided and wagged her tail a bunch going down the road, but we didn't get stuck. We then proceeded to go up and down the driveway many times over the week digging deeper and deeper grooves and digging up more of the slushy road..and we still never got stuck. Yes, I was just too lazy to get the snow blower out and blow it off, but hey...why bother if the car was getting through ok and it is all going to melt anyway. I would never have tried this in our 1996 A6 Frontrak, Fred would have certainly gotten stuck (as we have in years past). Oh, just so you know, Gretchen has Michelin Snow Tires on her in the winter.

Anyway. For any unbelievers out there...these cars are SO worth it!

Even more of a C4 platform Audi fan,
Dennis
