ignition switch issue

does anyone know how to trouble shoot an ignition switch issue. my ignition switch seems bad. it just doesnt seem to have the correct stop points any longer as in, on, ing, start position. i dont feel the stop points any longer and the car wont start.

SFTAs or the FAQs for replacing the ignition switch - easy DIY job. Common problem with eth C4 platform. If your ignition switch hasn't been replaced, then it is almost assured that the casing is crack/broken by the torsional spring.

i have searched and turned up nothing on how to replace the ign switch. if anyone has some direction on this i would be grateful
