Crystal Silver LY7T paint problem
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/97432/audi-autumn.jpg"></center><p>So the paint code listed on my 1992 Audi 100cs is LY7T/LY7T
I'm not sure if having the code/code is significant. In any case, I had NAPA make me a can of early 90's Audi Crystal Silver. I repaired some rust damage on the driver door and emptied the whole can on the door, plus almost a can of clearcoat. It's dry now and is too too dark. Seems much more dark than a decade of fading would have done to the original. Anyone run into this? Is NAPA not a good choice to get the right color? I looked online and saw a 2000s Crystal Silver wheel paint that looked closer to my body paint. I am definitely going to have to repaint the entire door again, but am hoping to minimize how many times. Please help.

Parts stores that mix custom spray cans should use your exact color code
They have all the makes and color codes with formulas in their system. If Napa does this, then all they should have needed was your code.

Re: Griot's wheel paint was the same colour as my 90 (also LY7T)
thanks for your response to my question re: LY7T paint for my audi100.
i looked at the paintscratch.com listing and am not sure what the "/C6" listed after LY7T for the 100 body-paint means. The color chip looks too dark, but the wheel paint shown with just the LY7T code looks about right. I sent some mail to the paintscratch people some days ago asking about the two shades, but as of yet I have not heard back. I may go for that Griot wheel paint as well. Do you know what makes the paint "wheel paint"? will my door turn into a wheel if i paint it with wheel-paint?
thanks,
paul (paudi100)
