A/C recharge DIY?
I have ato '98 A6 Avant (C4, 12v) and I'm wondering if it's possible, or am I chasing my tail? I searched the forum and ended up confused as to whether there is a low pressure connection at all. I spent the better part of an hour tracing the hoses from the compressor to the condenser to the evaporator to the A/C box under the cowl (for lack of a better term) and back. The only fitting I found was a large, high pressire sized connection on the condenser itself. Can anyone tell me for sure that there is a connection? And if so, where? Thanks.

There is no low pressure connection on our C4 Audi.
There is a pressure switch (under the plastic cowl) that is connected to the low side of the system. You will need to
1. remove the pressure switch,
2. jumper the switch to fool the circuit that controls the compressor clutch into believing that their is pressure in the system.
3. Connect an adapter to where you removed the pressure switch and connect your low pressure manifold line to the adapter.

Thanks! Found the switch and removed it. Tried a standard 7/16" adapter with no luck, so I searched again and found the Mastercool 82272 1/2" adapter is the way to go. It's on its way, crossing my fingers.
