A/C problem
Hi, all,
After searching forum for more then several hours, I decided to post and ask a few questions. I will appreciate any suggestions or info.
Car: 1995 A6 with Zexel compressor (00068).
I got the car several months ago, when it was cold, so I couldn't know if the a/c is working or not.
First, I fixed the flap problem (all 3 of them). I was hoping that fixing the temperature flap will solve the a/c issue, but it DID NOT.
There is no error codes in HVAC system. The control head is coded properly for the compressor. The output test for a/c clutch is good. BUT no cold air.
By measuring the blocks, I found out that high pressure switch value = 1 => it is closed (? am i wrong here ?).
Now I want to check if there is enough freon in there. How do I check that? I suppose I need to buy r134 gauge set and connect it to low and high side and check the pressure. I found one of the connectors right next to the windshield, not sure which one is that. And couldn't get definitive answer by looking thru so many posts that talk about low/high side.
On this car, which is 1995 A6, where is the low and high side pressure switches?
I'm thinking maybe something else not allowing a/c compressor to turn on, like coolant temp sensors or fan sensors?
Anybody can advise? Thanks.

Re: A/C problem
Low pressure switch/ service port is under the plenum on the passenger side close to the windshield.. you have to remove the switch to access the port..
High service port is usually on the left of the condenser in front of the radiator, if it has one.. and the switches are on the right side of the condenser but they are kinda hidden.
