Default 1994 A6 2.6 Indicator sound when driving

Hey all,

Hoping someone can help me with this to save a costly trip to the audi dealership!

Yesterday my car started making the indicator sound when driving along despite the indicator not being on.

(Indicator is what we call turn signals down here in NZ . . .not sure if its different in the USA!)

Anyone have any idea as to what this could be?

If you do, how would I go about getting rid of this horrible sound!

thanks in advance!

The first step is to find exactly where the sound is coming from.

The turn signal flasher (the part that makes the clicking noise) is located behind the instrument cluster. Do the turn signals function normally?

I'd be that the sound you're hearing is coming from one of the relays near what would be the driver's left foot (here in the US where driver's side = left side of the vehicle) or from one of the relays slightly above that.
