The car felt like it plenty more to give, but they give out tickets like junk mail around here.

This was in Montana. Ok, not quite legal since minutes later I was stopped for 114mph. And who says that *I* took the picture?
Hey Joe, why is your speed governor at 135 and mine at 130?
- Stan
I do love Montana. If you have local plates they don't bother you too much.

On a recent trip, i was traveling from charlotte to raleigh on I85 and saw a black A4 pulled over by a trooper just south of G'boro near where 40 and 85 meet...hope it wasnt any of you guys....
that is the only A4 i have seen pulled over....
friday, coming back from lunch on the beltline in raleigh, i was doing 80 in a 60 zone (my usual speed on the beltline) and a trooper, never saw him, came flying up beside me and gave me a mean look...so i slowed down to sixty..he never pulled me, thank god!!
David White
98 2.8qm

I'm sure I can reach 280 Km/h because I was
pretty far away from the red zone, but so far I
did not have the chance to find the appropriate
highway... I'll keep you update.
Laurent (Lucky owner of... guess what)

>also ever wonder what the speedo marking are for at 130 and 50
50km/h is the legal speed in towns and 130km/h is the recommended speed at Autobahn.
Some parts of the Autobahn does not have any speedlimits. (Guess where I were this summer...)
//RobertW

No, I'm not Canadian.. I just like the euro gauges.. none of that C-H temp stuff for me, thanks.. Having spent 3 1/2 years in Germany with various Euro and American Spec cars & bikes, the translation from KPH to MPH is automatic.
As for the markings, 50km's is the speed limit in towns, and 130km/h is the recommended limit on the Autobahns.
As for the 15 volts on the gauge, I have it set up to be dead accurate when the car is off, so I can see if I have 12.6 or 12 volts.. it seems to get waaaay optimistic when the car is running.. I get a steady 14.2 volts at the battery. :)

Quinland

Top speed run near Maupin / Warm Springs area in the high plains of Oregon, ran out of road while still accelerating.. I posted this a long time ago, maybe July or August of 97 ?
Donnie ( mama, don't let your sons grow up to drive Audi's )

I am not sure I have been in a car smoother than the A4 at high speed.

Sorry if this has been told before...
This old guy is leaving his office party. It is a beautiful summer evening and he has his top down in his Audi Cabriolet (modified for current audience). He decides to "open her up" a little and hits 80 MPH, soon sees blue flashing lights in the rearview, says "hey they can't keep up with my fine German machine," 90, 100, blue lights still right behind, he thinks, "Oh man, what am I doing?"
He pulls over they cop walks up to the car grabs the ready license and registration and says, "Look, you are my last pull-over tonight. I really don't want to do all of the paperwork, so if you give me an excuse I haven't heard before, I'll let you go."
Man looks at the cop and says, "Well, my wife ran off with a cop last week, I thought that was you trying to return her."
Cop says, "On your way."
I thought this was pretty funny.
Kirk

Yep ! A long awaited one, more than 11 months.
The purpose of my msg was not to make you
jealous but more to tell all A4 enthousiasts
that :
1) The S4 is really incredible even if some
minor things could be improved to increase
the pleasure.
2) It is the perfect tool to directly go in
jail if you're caught by the cops
3) More seriously that, at least here in
Europe, it is less expensive to get an S4
than a fully tuned A4 to reach unbeatable
performance without pushing the envelop
4) I hope that US will get it soon to share some
experience
Now what... I'll try to plan an trip to Germany
to fully test the engine (and to preserve my
driving licence ;-)) and that I'll maybe put
a chip after the factory warranty will have
expired.
Season Greetings from Switzerland
Laurent
