Well, minor squeaks in the cabin of my 98 A4 1.8Tq... but now my breaks are squeaking... and have been for about 100 miles or so. Anyone else experiencing this problem? I'm not too concerned because I am close to my first service.
At exactly what mileage will my "OIL" service light come on?

Yes, that helps somewhat...but didn't ever get rid of the problem. I had to change brake pads to the Rofrens to get rid of my squeak. Mine was REALLY bad.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM

Steve, you're right. I had the TSB performed at 15k service and all was quiet for a few thousand miles but then they'd start to squeak again, although it's really only in the rears on mine. I have noticed that if I aim a "jet" of water at the pads while I'm washing it, it seems to help. Maybe it helps to remove some of the brake dust.

Mine started badly to squeak at 6.5K as well as the occasional Metal to Metal feeling through the Pedal.
Got it Serviced with the TSB performed, slightly better but same symptoms.
I think different pads are the only solution.
I do not know if it is my imagination but it looks like front discs show wear.
I will be going to the A8 Discs soon.
