I am looking to start upgrading the interior of my A4, and would really like to have some white faced gauges like the S cars. I would like to hear from anyone who has this mod, and hear what they think about it. I will be doing the install myself, as I've already taken my instrument cluster out before, and it was really easy. Do the white faced gauges light up as well at night, and do you have a problem with the warning lights that are in the speedo & tach?
Also, I think I am going to get some carbon fiber trim for the interior. Has anyone had any experience with this? Is the LLTek carbon trim nice?
Thanks all for your help!
Christian J. Long
'98.5 A41.8ts
Neusped
17" R28s

I've had the LLtek trim on my car for a couple months now (4), and it isn't a high-quality interior modification (it's a laminated sticker with carbon-fiber-look print... and it has already begun to peel from the center vent area). I've now been dissatisfied with every product purchased from LLtek... including the carbon trim.
I ordered these about 7 or 8 months ago (they also make white ones) and I never put them in my car. I ordered them sight unseen and am sorry I did. IMHO, they are very cheesy looking. The printing wasn't very good. Even though silver gauges would be cool, I wasn't about to put something in that made the instrument panel look cheap. I never put them in, so I don't know how they light up, but just looking at them, I knew I didn't want them in the car...
Again, this is just MY opinion and I have no experience with the white ones.
Still looking for a nice set of gauges...
Be careful !!!!!!
I installed the white gauge faces from LLtek, reassenbled everything and then the speedo stopped working.
The computer also senses that the instrument cluster has been disconnected and the engine ran like sh*^&** for about 5 miles.

I have the silver gauges. I like them, Can't tell the difference between silver and white once installed though. The lighting is still red, and its easy to read in daylight and night. It is a little hard to make out the numbers under dim lights (driving under bridges and sunset, etc.)
Takes a little getting used to, but I think overall it looks better than the black.
Also, you do see red numbers in the day unless you've got BRIGHT light shining on the dash.
-Manny
'98 1.8TQM
