My friend finally got his A4 1.8t Q, and he is wanting to do chip, intake, and exhaust, and wheels. I know the best way it to "Wett"chip (so I hear), but what is best intake (cone), and exhaust (supersprint possible?), and where can he find a good set of light wheels. Where can all this stuff be purchased for the cheapest? Thanks a bunch in advance...(also, any idea how much HP he'll have?). If you guys could respond via email, much more appreciated...PM3

1. Chip: lots of debate will be heard about this but pretty much everyone agrees that any chip you buy (TAP, Hoppen, Wett etc...) will be good. Personally, I'm getting the Wett chip, for what it's worth.
2. Filters: DO NOT BUY A CONE FILTER W/ A TURBO! Sorry to shout but here's why: your engine needs cool air for the turbo to work properly. Using a cone filter (which collects the hot air surrounding your engine) will diminsh the turbo's power and efficiency. Get a drop in K&N filter or equivalent.
3.Exhaust: too much to write. Check out Lltek and others who sell exhausts. Lots of info in the archives.
4. Wheels: go to www. tirerack.com and use their interactive fitment guide. It works, you can see all the wheels on your car & their prices are pretty good as well (semi-endorsement: I have bought from them for years and I have always had good service and good products).
Hope this helps a bit.
Rob 1.8 TQT in NYC
