View Full Version : Anyone had dealings with Gordon Spencer in Austin TX? RB 04-29-1999, 06:56 PM I am on the waiting list for a TT. Does anybody have any comments on the dealership and service.
Thanks!
MikeJ 04-29-1999, 07:15 PM I talked with him about ordering my 99.5 A4. I thought he was very knowledgeable, but I decided to go with Ken Simon at Don McGill in Houston b/c I'll be in Houston when my car is delivered. Don Mcgill also has a much larger inventory making it easier to find a car that matches your needs the best.
MikeJ
99.5 cactus green 2.8 QT (due in first week of June) jack 04-29-1999, 07:18 PM I went to maund to test drive an a4 and was thoroughly underwhelmed by Gordon's apparent lack of concern as to whether I bought a car from him or not--definitely not the profile of a car salesman. This would have been good if he was offering a good price, but he wouldn't budge much. Instead, I called Rod East in san ant and talked to Tim Farley (I think that's his last name)--God, what a difference. He quoted me a price over the phone 5.5% off sticker, took me on a test drive, pointing out the quattro benefits, etc., then had the car detailed (after I signed the contract) and proceeded to go through the manual page by page with me, then through the car--all of its features.
You can probably tell that I'm pro-rod east and con chas maund. I think it comes down to the fact that chas maund is interested in selling toyotas and rod east has only vw and audi. If you can get out of dealing with gordon I'd advise it. but whatever you do, don't get out of ordering the a4--you'll love it. ...Jack, 98 1.8TQ joe s. 04-29-1999, 07:44 PM gordon spencer was my salesman and i would recommend him to anyone. he is very knowledegable about the cars and the customer care i get is unsurpassed. because i am under 25, gordon always gets me a demo to drive when my car is being serviced. he usually puts me into HIS demo...usually an audi a6. he gave me a fair deal for my audi and gave me an incredible amount for my trade in...
joe s.
98.5 tqms wett/brullen/neuspeed-bilstein/etc...
Alfonso Gutierrez 04-29-1999, 08:10 PM He is an excellent guy and a good salesman. He sold me a 98 A4 2.8QMS and a TT that i should get within the next fifteen days.
I had no problems dealing with him, I got the A4 for a much better price than the one offered by the dealer in Houston.
The San Antonio dealer has a bad rep with their service department. |
