This was discussed on the BMW Z3 message board yesterday (see link). The part about it not being necessary, (synchronized tranny) is valid for Audi as well. HTH.
CraigB

Z3 Message Board (double clutching)

There is a good thread on this and it *IS* in the archives (I checked).
Go the the page to search the archives, and enter this search string:
"double clutching (kinda long)"
enter that with the quotation marks and you should get several articles from the thread.
As I recall, there was more than one description of how to double-clutch. The difference was whether or not to release the clutch when you were in neutral. I was taught 25 years ago that double-clutching requires releasing the clutch while in neutral and blipping the throttle. BTW, double-clutching in an A4 is unnecessary.

Thanks Rich. I don't have any place local that carries any aftermarket Audi parts, so it's hard for me to see anything before purchasing. If you do get some aftermarket tail lenses, send me some pictures. If possible, get some pictures of all of them. I was just trying to imaging what the clear ones would look like on the Pearl, and it seemed they would look good.... but nothing like an actual view of them on the car.
G. It's about a 5 hour drive up to VW Sport, but next time I'm there I'll try to snap a pic.
I'm trying at this point for more power.. tail lights are kinda low on the priority list.
Rich
