My 99.5 A4 was in the first shipment to San Diego, but the car still has not been delivered to the dealer. Does anyone know what the delay in getting the cars out of port is? Dealer says San Diego port is just not set up right yet.

I hope the entry procedure gets streamlined fast. Mine left Germany on 4/16. Dealer says it might be in the Bay Area by 4/16.<p>BTW, when did your leave Germany?

According to my salesman, Audi had been pressuring the dealership to obtain a separate and more upscale showroom for their Audi line apart from their VW sales. Apparently, this is part of a concerted effort by Audi to reinvent and reinforce their image as a luxury line equivalent to BMW, Mercedes, etc.<p>The dealership would not or could not (I'm not sure which) accommodate this demand so Audi excersized their right to deny the franchise (I don't know if the franchises have to be periodically renewed or they can yank the franchise anytime?) I was told it was going to Keyes. However, I'm taking delivery through Westlake. Maybe this is just a stop gap measure until Keyes gets their showroom together... I don't know?<p>That's the story I got.
