Only a week after I brought my santorin blue 1.8Tq home I got some tree sap on my car's finish.
I went to the car wash a couple of days later not realizing how critical the situation was! Of course the marks left were serious and quite disturbing. I read lots of similar references on A4.org which confirmed my dilemna. I decided to live with it till I had some time to try to rub the marks out with rubbing compound or some similar harsh measure.
Today, several weeks later, after washing my car I decided to try Meguire's liquid cleaner wax to see if it made any difference. I used a lot of elbow grease and to my surprise made some progress! After a few attempts I was able to remove all trace of those nasty stains!
Of course this does leave me with one major question: When I spend the time using a "real" hard wax, do I need to first remove the existing wax? If so, any recommendations on how to do so?

I used this on my old white Prelude. It had a bunch of stains that I couldn't get off. The Medallion Paint Cleaner worked very well. I was very impressed. This is the only paint cleaner that I have tried, others may work equally as well.
Mark (98.5 2.8 QMS)
