View Full Version : mud flaps for A4 Advant John Shih 12-26-1998, 07:32 PM I'm tired of cleaning the rocker panels on our A4. Anyone knows of reasonable looking mud guards for this car?
Dale B 12-26-1998, 08:13 PM Audi's mud flaps that fit the regular A4 also are supposed to fit the Avant according to the Clair Parts Express price list. I'm sure that's true for the front, but I'd verify that for the rear. (A toll free phone call to Clair would do it). Price should be about $60 for all 4 with shipping.
Dale Christian J. However, it was more difficult to get the clips on. I finally used the following method:
- Install just one screw in the mudflap loosely, so that it can rotate about the screw. Rotate the mud flap away from the car.
- Make a loop of thin wire or fishing line, so that you can pull the clip open.
- Slide the clip into place (without the mud flap in place it is easy). Place the wire loop under the end of the clip so that you can pull it open. While pulling on the wire, rotate the mud flap in to place.
- I installed just the top clip this way, which is probably enough to hold them in place.
