I am currently contemplating purchasing a sport grill. I am looking th the Avantgarde grille form AIM, and also at the LLTek sport grille. I have dealt with AIM in the past, and I have been very satisied with their service. I have heard mixed reviews about the quality of both the products and the service fron LLTek, so I am therefore skeptical about placing an order with them. However, the price of the LLTek grill is significantly less than that of the Avantgarde grill form AIM. Anyone out there know how comperable the two products are qualitywise? Any input appreciated.
AdamN
98 1.8T FINALLY w/ 17" TSW Trophies!

I havn't seen LLTek grille up close, but I can tell you I am very satisfied with A!Avantgarde ..... high qual. & easy to install.

One major differance is the aim grill includes the audi rings. When I spoke to lltek
about theirs they recommended I use the rings from the original grill held on with
garbage bag twist ties which I thought was unacceptable.

LLtek doesn't include Audi rings; A!Avantgarde does. You can go to any Audi dealer and order the rings for ~$25; it's not the grille from the A4; rather it's the grille from the 80 or 90, I believe. It's held on with three round "tabs" that go through the grille and are then physically held by round spring-clips.
-josh
98.5 2.8qms w/ Avantgarde grille

i too bought the lltek because of the price....the rubber stripping that goes around the inner edge of the hood did not stay on good...the grille rusted at the edges...they sent me a new one...same thing happened....got into a bender fender and bought the avantgarde instead....now i have the rings and NO rust whatsoever....they are NOT made in the same factory...just look at the powdercoating...totally different...also, the ringes from the orginal grille will not work with the new grille...the tabs used to fasten it to the factory grille get in the way....you have to break all of them off...i did this and it looked like crap on the lltek grille....go for the avantgarde and save yourself the headache...
joe s.
98.5 qtms wett 1.0/bosch euro lights/neuspeed springs/brullen exhaust/clear sides&markers/wood trim/momo knob and pedals/stongard/rockford fosgate/boost guage/etc,etc,etc...

Depending on the price difference or who you know it coulld be a better deal to but the LLsham piece then send it out for powdercoating. I'm looking into powdercoating mine now.
