Just curious to see if anyone has had either of these problems before I bring my '97 1.8TQAS-Neuspeed in...<p>Whenever I start my A4, the defroster light always comes on. The only way to get it to shut off is to hit the Auto button (which turns off the def. light, but turns on the snowflake) and then hit the snowflake light to turn that one off.<p>The other problem is a drop in rpm between 2nd & 3rd gear when I'm at about 1/2 throttle. The drop happens at about 2800-3k rpm, and it drops about 300-400 rpm. It's really annoying since you lose significant power when it's happening.<p>On another note, I've had some pretty noticable detonation since installing my Neuspeed chip. (It's been in about 6 mos. now.) Have others had the same problem? (yes, I only use 92 octane, and plugs were just replaced at the 30k service)<p>TIA,<br>---John Pal...<br>'97 1.8TQAS

The drop in power sounds like a "hiccup" if you will in the programming.. and I wouldn't stand for any detonation at all! My MTM/Hoppen chip only has 2 light "ticks" when going from vacuum to full boost, but nothing else.<p>As far the HVAC... is your button sticking maybe?<p>Both just guesses, the former from programming some GM ecu's...<ul><li><a href="http://home.att.net/~richquinlan">Quinland</a></li></ul>

Thanks for the feedback Rich.<p>I'll be contacting GreedSpeed to see what they'll do about the detonation and 'hiccup.' I imagine they'll send out another ECU to try, but we'll see...<p>I think I'll just talk to the dealer about the defroster button, and not mention anything about the other probs until after I work things out with GreedSpeed.<p>Thanks again,<br>---John Pal...<br>'97 1.8TQAS
