Just in case anyone is wondering, a local dealer had a 99.5 1.8T Avant. I'm still waiting for mine, and am hopeful they will start streaming stateside in higher numbers soon. Yesterday I talked to my dealer about my 1.8 Avant order which was scheduled for production on April 2nd. Still no VIN! All he could tell me was that it was "in production". He did say that it looked like there hadn't been any Avants built for awhile and it looked like they were grouping them together. Maybe someday, somehow we will have our Avants. (way to go with the cool shades!, I ordered Pelican Blue)

Same situation here in San Diego. My 2.8QTip Avant was supposed to have been built in week 14, but still no VIN has been issued. My salesman at Miramar Audi said they've received no 99.5 Avants yet, in fact mine will be their first. He guesses there was a delay due to the rear hatch redesign. A call to AoA yesterday didn't provide him with much additional info. Five and a half months and counting!

Well, I ordred my 1.8TQMS Avant in Dec. 98. As of last weekend my order was in "N" status and the production date was 4/00/99. So all of this means that my order has been approved for produstion but no real date has been assigned. Audi is "hopeing" to build it in April (fat chance). <p>When I placed my order I saw a printout from the dealer a couple weeks later and it had my production date as 03/00/99, now its 04/00/99.
