Hear is an idea:
Take a thick blanket(s) and cut it up to fit the horizontal surface part of a car cover (even the sides if it could be a problem), and then velcro, or whatever, the peices onto the inside of the car cover. The blanket will protect the car and the car cover will keep it from blowing away. Yeah, we have some bad hail occasionally here in Winston-Salem, NC.
. . when you leave work, etc. Unless you use a waterproof cover. You might also be able to make sections that clip on, but then it wouldn't cover the sides where you do get some wind driven hail.
I'd say don't drive in bad weather, but then most of us have quattro :-)
Todd W

Indeed, it DID illuminate the shoulder of the road MUCH better, which was my first clue that they cast more light than the SW's. (The bulb that went bad on mine was on the right, BTW)
Maaaybe the contrast is better with the SW's.. but once I have the 90/130 watt bulbs in there, there will be NO COMPARISON! Total cost for that? about $50.. 19.95 each bulb, $10 for relays and wire (which I already have)
Anyone want 1 superwhite bulb?? :-Þ
Rich Quinlan

Quinland

Are the proposed LLtek HID lights have E-code lamps. I assume that they would since they are only available in Europe. If I am lucky enough to be one of the few to purchase these, I am planning to make the purchase. I had a 328i with Xenons pass me a couple nights ago and the light output from the car was phenomenal. I had seen many Xenon equiped cars going in the opposite direction, and color of the light was what attracted me. But after the 328i got past me, I could see exactly what kind of output that he was seeing, and it was amazing. Even after he got several hundred feet ahead of me, you could still see his lights lighing up the road, whereas, at that distance, you could not even tell other cars that he was passing had their lights on. I definitely want the HID's.
