I got my used 98.5 2.8 Quattro manual A4 on Thursday as expected!
I love it - it is just what I wanted.
I debaged the rear this morning (2 hours and a finger blister later...). The hairdryer, floss and Goo Gone worked great. I will have to wax it soon.
My wife won't let me touch the front grill - and I guess I can compromise on that.
I won't bother with tags from another automaker - it would just be too weird - and I think if another A4 owner saw me in mine they would jump out and throttle me.

I am really enjoying this ride. I have already had two Audi encounters with friendly waves from both. I even found my first race - I left the 5.0 litre smoggy Mustang in my dust (I think he was afraid of his high speed handling)....
More messages to come tonight ---
Gordon
98.5 2.8QM
We had some criminals briefly move into a rental across the street from us. They got arrested once BECAUSE THEY WERE EXTREMELY STUPID.
These idiots used a stolen credit card to buy a couch from Sears. But then (here's the stupid part) THEY ASKED TO HAVE IT DELIVERED! When the truck pulled up, the thiefs signed for the couch only to have a bunch of police officers come pouring out of the back of the truck to make the arrest.
On another occasion we caught two young adults who had broken into my neighbours house. My friend was able to lead the cops to the house that they had fled to (we had followed them in a strange way). Get this - they had traded two VCRs and a Nintendo system for a CASE OF BEER!
Intelligent - I think not. Have you ever watched cops? Although there are some very organized intelligent car theives out there - there are even more really supid ones that might break into my car just to steal my radio...(I know there is a deactivation feature, but these idiots would be too dumb to know that).
Thanks for listening,
Gordon

The other day, I had the priviledge of sitting in the rear-facing back seat of a freinds TAurus wagon. I was looking at the rear of cars in the other side of the road on the highway.
I found one car which looked a lot like the A4's rear.
The Mazda Protege
