Does anyone know where I can purchase an ECU for a 99 1.8t QMS? I think Clair sell them but I'm looking for a used ECU. Will ECUs from 97 or 98 work if the Vehicle was the same time type?(ie 1.8 T to 1.8 T) Thanks

Good luck finding the difference, but from asking around the best and only advice is not to stray from the model you currently have. DADS, as mentioned in the previous post, as well as Ron's Auto Parts up in Canada, have "M"'s aplenty, but "P"'s are much harder to come by. You could get an M for $350, but good luck finding a P for less than $700. AutoThority told me they charge $900 for it, if memory serves. Audi/VW would probably charge $1500, that's my guess. anonymous2 04-13-1999, 03:52 PM The "P"'s are out there as well. Try doing a search for "auto salvage" at your favorite web search site. You will no doubt find several salvage outfits that will accept a part query via a web form. My search turned up two "P"'s in a matter of days and both were $350. BTW, Audi (or at least my Audi dealer) lists a new ECU for $900 based on the price quoted to replace my original ECU.

|
