Does anybody have any recommendations for performance shops in the d.c. area.<br>The only one I have heard of is vwsport, and I am told they don't do installs. Is this correct?<br>

Is this correct?<br> Chris Ciccone 10-23-1998, 12:55 PM Mike I have been to VWSPort and they have good stuff...I believe they do installs of certain things, and if they dont they send it down the road to Porsche Pitstop...they have had many cars featured in magazines and there shop, though small is clean and very nice! They do mainly vw's but one of the owners has an A4 and they did that up real nice...I talked to them about my A4 and they can get whatever I want (schips, susp., wheels)...they know what they are talking about also. The 5000 had it the best, with the battery in the passenger compartment, under the rear seat. The reason? Temperature. The double firewall keeps the summer/driving temperature lower, as it is away from the engine compartment heat. The biggest enemy is heat boiling the water away faster, killing the plates and causing the deraded sulfide build-up. winter is a different story but as long as the electrolyte doesn't freeze and you have enough energy to crank, all is fine. <p>Expect longer than average battery life. I think Audi uses several brands of OEM batteries. |
