I don't trust dealers and I was wondering if anybody out their wasn't taking advantage or the Audi warranty because of this. I would rather do my own oil changes when I want and will never wait 10K miles between oil changes. What else would I be missing if I just do my own maintenance? I mean beside some oil jockey over-tightening your drain bolt and oil filter, and overfilling etc. :) This may seem anal but I never bring my cars in for anything except broken things. Looking forward to your thoughts; all you fellow anal A4 owners. Anal Al in Maryland

Hi I just got my wett chip for a 30v today. They sent an ecu with one in it to use. Well after I put it in I went for a drive. Couldnt tell any difference initially, or is was tiny. Then going up a hill at about 85 or so at 4000 rpm the engine just died. It wouldnt start again, just turned over. I waited 10 mins it ran for about a min then the check engine light came on and the engine died again. This kept happening. I had to get the car flatbeded home. I put the old ecu back in and it seems to work fine now. I hope nothing was damaged. I dont know what the heck was wrong with their eco. Any suggestion? Seems like the car was getting flooded. Regardless, no chips for me. <p>Shawn<br>98 a4 2.8 30v quattro sport(stock!)

Shawn,<p>Might not want to give up yet. I've had zero problems with mine in about 40k miles of driving in all kinds of conditions. It's been completely transparent, with a tiny (as you say) boost in power. Try again, and give them a call at Wetterauer.<p>Rich<br>'98 2.8Qsport
