I have just ordered my winter tires/wheels and I need a recommendation for a good floor jack for this and other projects on my 98 A4 Q sedan. I know the jack points on the A4 can be a little tricky (owners manual only moderately helpful for me), so if anyone has experience using a particular jack on their A4, I would like to hear about it. Installing my rear mud flaps as well.
Thank you in advance.
John.

You know that u shape jack that the OEM supply... well, you'll want the same u-shape adapter for a floor lift. If you use just the floor jack itself, you run the risk of crimping the pinch-weld sheet metal (unibody) - bad! I saw this adapter in my friend's automotive catalogue... Eastwood. It goes for 19.99. I think it would make a great, safe investment if you use a floor jack often.
Now, I have to figure out where to put the jack stands??
Cris

Man, that thing is heavy (the jack). I like the fact that the jack stands came with it.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM
