I just got my 99.5 A4 2.8 Trip Sport Silver/Opal Grey and I am trying to break the car in. How much damage if I accidently rev the car to 4000 rpm during the first 100 miles. <br>My dealer told me to "try" to keep it under 4,000 rpm during the first 500 miles or so. The manual does not specify a rev limit; it only says to avoid full maxuimum engine/speed or full throttle during the first 600 miles. The next 400, gradual acceleration to max speed possible.

now you've got me all worried, i floored the pedal once or twice while in tip mode (went up to like 6k rpm). also, my car was a test car for awhile, so what possible repercussions might I face?<p>i'm at 600 miles now, and everything *seems* okay.<p>
