I ran into a friend that let me borrow his G-Tech last night, so my roomate and I went to this perfect new road behind my house. No cars, no homes, no lights...just straight and brand new! Here are the 0-60 times (this is my first time using the thing, so I will try again later).
The Car: 99 1.8T,Quattro, 5spd, Sport Package, Sunroof, RamAir filter, AutoThority Chip.
The Conditions: 60degerees, 9:30pm, little more than half a tank of gas. My passanger (180-200lbs.) and me (157lbs).
Launch Technique: I just brought RPMs up to about 4grand and let out the clutch, moderaltely, I was not very hard on the car. I shifted right at 6,000RPM, though the chip raises the Redline by like 400rpm, I just did not use it.
The Results: Keeping in mind the passanger and the fuel, and it being my first time trying this, here you go:
1st: 7.91 (I really bogged the engine)
2nd: 6.84
3rd: 6.83
4th: 6.69
As you can see I got better as I ws getting used to the launch technique. These numbers are very close to the 6.6 that C&D got, especially since I'm not an expert and I had someone in the car!
I'm going to try to do 1/4 mile times sometime soon, and maybe do the 0-60 again. I will let you know. This is a good example of how a chip with low boost (11psi) can perform just as good if not better than the big boys (14psi), and as the rest of the AutoThority owners know, this thing is Smooth. Talk to you later.
Chris Ciccone
