For those that were asking about the wood shift knob from the dealer, my first attempt at posting a pic should be in the pic poster, under "wood shift knob". It was pretty expensive, about $80 from the dealer (maybe less from Clair) and matches the pre-98.5 "atmospheres" 2.8 wood trim exactly. It has the same finish and feel as the dash trim, and I really like it actually. Doesn't get slippery as I'd feared..actually seems to provide a better grip (just don't go eatin' a big mac 'n fries while shiftin'), and it's not freezing cold in the winter like the aluminum knobs I looked at.
It's a huge file for a small pic--sorry, I won't have photoshop until next week and am quite new at this.
I hope you will be able to view it with a graphics application--I used Freehand on a Mac to open it successfully. Hope it works, otherwise e-mail me and I'll (attempt to) send it as an attachment.
Rich
'98 2.8Q sport

When you upload a photo for use on the internet, it needs to be either a JPEG or GIF file and it also it needs to have a 3 letter extention,( ie: .jpg, .gif) Also, spaces in a name are kind of bad. I'm assuming that you uploaded this from a Mac? Mac's don't automatically add an extention, so you will have to do it manually.
Matt Daniels

Hope this works--this is a first for me!
If the link doesn't work, it's in the picture poster.
Sorry for the sideways orientation, but hopefully it'll show you the color.
Rich
'98 2.8Q sport

Jason,
Sorry, didn't get the part number--they just had it sitting there in the display case, calling my name.
Any dealer should be able to get it for you, but I'd try Clair first though, probably cheaper..
Happy shiftin'
Rich
'98 2.8Q sport
It is a great knob, anotomic and fits perfectly! I do have the post 98.5 wood so it doesn't go with the wood as well as it would in a pre 98.5. Defenately worth the 68 bucks, I don't think you could find a better fiting aftermarket one w/o swaping out the whole boot.
