How much of the leather interior is really leather. In my previous car, only the seating surfaces were leather. Since they didn't say leather seating surfaces in the A4 is it all leather? Even the armrest?

View Full Version : Leather interior Sandy K 11-03-1998, 12:12 PM How much of the leather interior is really leather. In my previous car, only the seating surfaces were leather. Since they didn't say leather seating surfaces in the A4 is it all leather? Even the armrest? Kyle Bailey 11-03-1998, 12:15 PM I asked this question before and got very few responses. Nobody seemed to know for sure, but the consensus was that it isn't all leather. I can feel a difference between the seating surface and the rest of the seat bottom. But I am not sure about the armrests, headrests, and the back seat. I would like to know so that I can treat the surfaces with the appropriate product (Lexol Leather Conditioner vs. Vinylex or Maguiar's #40).
Kyle Bert 11-03-1998, 12:19 PM On casual inspection, I would say that the arm rest, the rear panel just under the head rest of the front seats, and maybe the stuff around the interior door handle are NOT leather.
Bert Nolan S 11-03-1998, 03:43 PM nt Kirk 11-03-1998, 05:57 PM It is a complete leather interior. NOT just the seating surfaces. Every surface that "looks like" leather IS. One of my "pros" v. "cons" of the car.
Kirk
With a Leather Sport Seated 99Q on the interstate, heading my way...glory days... Bert 11-04-1998, 08:30 AM I beg to differ on the arm rest, unless your claim is that material does not "look like" leather. My center arm rest's right front corner is showing a little wear and does not look like leather. Maybe they made a change for the 98.5 model on up, but my 98 (7/97 build), is not leather through out.

Bert |
