Hi.<p>I have a 97 1.8T (non chipped, as of now) with about 12000 mi on it. Whenever I accelerate from a stop (or from a slow speed) I hear, like a cracking or clicking noise from the front suspension.<p>Any comments are appreciated.<p>Anthony

I have a very slight 'twitch' that I feel in the steering wheel every now and then only on right hand turns accelerating from a stop. I don't hear anything, but only feel it.<p>Doesn't sound like the same thing.<p>Tom<br>

It's a very very subtle sound/sensation in my car, and I'm 90% sure that the service rep and/or mechanic are not going to hear it =(<p>I can only hear this at low speeds. I think it happens on or off throttle (whew, not quattro then). No way can you hear this if I'm on the throttle more than a half a centimeter. I'm not even sure how to go about describing it as it's so subtle. Anthony, I don't suppose you just went through a bunch of snow/ice/salt/slush as well?<p>Anyhow, I have to go back to the dealer since my OBDII light popped on. They replaced my windshield wiper pump since it was leaking. I wonder if they messed with any exhaust components. What's odd is that the light came on right after I filled the car with gas, and yes I put the lid on tight. 3 clicks is what the doctor prescribes.<p>98.5 Wett RamAir'ed Santorin Blue 2.8QMS

Sounds like the same thing to me.<p>No I didnt go thru any ice or slush.<p>I'd be happy to hear what your dealer says.<p>Anthony

Your first instinct was correct, it's from the suspension in the front somewhere. I could hear/feel it when I went over the bump that leads into my garage. I can't say that I'm really worried about this.<p>Other good news, my OBDII light went out, so I'll probably be skipping the trip to the dealer.<p>98.5 Wett RamAir'ed Santorin Blue 2.8QMS
