Last night I left my sunroof open with the rear edge lifted away from the car. The panel which slides forward under the sunroof was closed and no water appeared to get on this, but I did notice that some water had dripped onto the railing at the back edge of the sunroof. This railing looks like it acts as a gutter to divert water when idiots leave the sunroof cracked during a rain. I just was interested if anyone knows weather this is a gutter or if I just filled the roof of my car with water.
the 1st time was a down pour - seats and arm rests got soaked. I wiped down the sunroof/cabin cover thing, drove around with the sunrood tilted. Everything appears to be okay.
Cris

I am uncertain about the A4, havn't had to take it apart, but my old 5000QT was built with drains, with the tubes dumping out into the rear wheel wells.
My parent's house use "roof windows" as skylights which open up via remote control. They have a rain sensor which automatically shuts them when a drop of water hits. They are very accurate and shut within a couple of minutes of light rain. I wonder if this technology could be adapted to Audi sunroofs? They already have a sun sensor which will open and ventilate the A6. What do you guys think...(ESPECIALLY those in Seattle ;) )
Kirk
A4 2.8, don't be late, got a shipping date, for I-5 north to Seattle, won the battle, of the production blues....(Geez, I hope that flatbed driver is gentle, let's all take a moment and pray.)
They have rain sensors... Unfortunately, they are only in the A6 and A8s that are equiped with the solar-powered sunroof/cooling system. Those will close in the rain. Anybody know if those can be retrofitted into an A4?
