Two things, really quick. This will be my first "mod", so to speak, on my 98 1.8T A4. I want to get a really nice tint for it.
The questions:
1.) The car is Santorin Blue. Is a semi-reflective tint nice for it? I only want about 20% tint, front and back sides, and rear windshield. Any pics of nice tints on the Santorin Blues?
2.) Most reliable brand for these tints.....? I saw a couple on here before.....
3.) Any good places in Northern NJ that can be recommended?

Thanks,
Al

I have a Santorin Blue 1998 1.8T as well, and recently got the windows tinted 30% all around (20% was not an option here, as the next step darker was a 15%, which in my opinion is a bit too dark). I think this looks really good, but if 20% was available, I may have gone with that as well. In any case, I'm sure you'll be pleased.
In terms of brands to use, I've tried 3M on my 1991 BMW 3-series, and currently I have Lumar on the A4...both are equally durable I think. Hope this helps.
Dixon
el profesor,
I have a Santorin Blue with a semi metallic tint. It's some sort of name brand. When I go home i'll check my information. Anyway, it looks GREAT! and no it doesn't interfere with radio reception.
Straight dark tints look good on colors such as black, but this metallic tint works well with the blue. Warren Wang also has the same tint, and claims to like it.
If I can get any more info, I'll post it.
Amro

I have limo tint on back and rear sides and 35% in the front sides. Brand is Johnson Sillouette.
Looks great with the Santorin blue, but I think having the same tint all around looks good too. I have the charcoal tint.
I had mine done in Delaware.
-Manny
will post pics once I get this film developed
