I found a computer enhanced image of the next generation A4 in a German auto magazine "Auto Bild" Oct 23 issue. It look very convincing and if this picture is accurate then I'll definitely queuing for it. BTW I think it looks much better than some of the earlier picture that were posted before.<br>Sorry about the quality and I took the picture at an angle to avoid the reflection of the flash. It is also too big for my scanner to scan it in one go.

Vic, thanks for the picture and I hope more show up soon. I believe this is the new A4 GP version.<p>It is listed to have:<br>New headlights (C5 like)<br>New front grill<br>Fog lights below the bumper<br>New door handles (C5 like)<br>High gloss B pillar<br>New center console (and auto climate control)<br>The steering wheel will be the same color as the interior (instead of just black)<br>Clear side turn signals (like the C5)<br>Larger sunroof<br>"Audi" in script on the bottom ledge as you open the door<p>I probably left a few things out too.

David,<p>Do you mean this is a facelift of the current A4 or the next generation A4?

... I think it's an evolutionary move on the part of Audi. I like it better than that prototype with the TT-type front end, and it looks like there's more rear leg room. The overall affect is more sleek and elegant. It's a better makeover than the new 3 series, IMHO.

I like it. Unlike the other pictures that I saw. This one seems perfect. Build it and I'll buy it. I was thinking about the new 3 series after my lease runs out. But for some reason that car doesn't get me exited. I'm hooked on AWD.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What do you like? What kind of car do you think is sexy? Lexus GS400, BMW M coupe, AMC pacer :-)

IMHO it's not better than my current A4. Making the front-end pointy is a real American and Japanese thing to do, and the way the front bumper and grille area fit against the body panels is the same kind of kludge that's on the back of the current A6. The only things my A4 needs to put it ahead of everything else on the road is better performance and a smoother drivetrain. Let's put the R&D money into the things that really matter. The outside is already perfect.

I agree. I think the current generation is better looking. This one doesn't have that solid German look about it....I think it's because of the sharp front....and the front overhang bigger......IMHO. I'll stick with the current one thank you....unless there's some kick-ass upgrades to the drivetrain that are too good to pass up.<p>-Ash Silver 98.75 1.8TQMS

Looks more like a luxury car and less like the hunkered-down bulldog sports sedan we all know and love. I think the current A4 needs an update to stay competitive but if it loses it's sporting looks, whats the point?<p>Mick<br>98 2.8qm

Vic,<p>The GP is a face-life for the current A4, hence it'll be the same engine. A limited 1000 cars are set for product starting the 3rd week of January for the US.<p>I haven't seen a picture of it, so I'm wondering if this is it.<p>Dave<br>

Which is far short of the pics that have been popping up over the last few months.<p>FWIW, I would have pushed the design envelope a bit further, but generally like what I see in this pic.<p>Rob o

I have to believe this is the new car. The rear doors/glass is different. They wouldn't go to that much trouble for a mere facelift.

It does seem to have some of the promised features of the GP (99.5), but the rear doors look longer, and the roofline is definitely different. These are some serious sheetmetal changes (which cost serious $$$), not what you would do for a end of run facelift.<p>Tom Halter<br>98.5 2.8 QM Pearl/Onyx
