Has anyone had any experience (good or bad) with the Service Dept. at Gossett Motors, the Audi dealer in Memphis, TN. I currently have a '99 2.8QMS on order and Gossett Motors is the dealer closest to my home. I would like to know what I should expect (or watch out for) when I take my new "baby" in for service or repair.
Is there a certain technician at Gossett that is particularly knowledgeable that I should ask for?
Thank you, in advance, for your input.

I have had three oil/filter changes at Gossett and they overfilled by nearly a quart all three times, other than that the service has been very good.
They replaced the sagging headliner in my 97 A4 without hesitation (it was a 4-hour job and the parts were about $450). I am scheduled to bring my car in again in a few weeks and I have a few things I would like them to look at (squeaky clutch, random rattles noisy pasenger window).
Robert Jordan
debadged signature

I am in Memphis. I do not see too many A4s. What color is your?
I have a 98.5 2.8 Santorin Blue with 17 inch Ronal R28s. The car is always very dirty so you cannot miss me.
It might be kinda of cool if we get get a few others in the Memphis Area to meet for lunch one day.
Doug H

I've got a '98 1.8TMS that I'd love to chip, but have reservations for the obvious reasons. Has anyone ever discussed this with the service department? Just curious as to their position.
I purchased my A4 from Gossett, but have been getting it serviced in Little Rock (where I'm from). I believe I'll take it back to Memphis for my upcoming 20,000 mile service. So...I can't give you any feedback on service, but it was a pleasure working with Tyrone Knolls during the order/purchase.
Wesley Walls
'98 1.8TMS

I had a fairly long discussion one day with the service manager, Chuck, and one of the service technicians.
We were in the service bay while they were installing after market wheels and tires on my car. I asked them their position on chips. They responded with a story about an A4 that came in for work that had been chipped, had an after market cam and other mods. Apparently, that particular A4 was a real mess.
They indicated that the mods had voided the warranty. I asked whether the failures were directly caused by the mods. I cannot recall their precise response, but I do believe if you took a car in for engine problems and it had an after market chip, you may have an uphill battle.
Chuck has also indicated to me that Gossett will not install after market parts which will raise warranty issues and potential liability.
The Gossett guys are totally cool and laid back. It just seemed like a management decision from higher-up which has implimented this policy.

I am flexible. My office is in White Station Tower next to Clark Tower. I also spend considerable time downtown so I am very flexible.
