I took advantage of the probably last chilly (45 F) morning in Houston and chased the crap out of my 98.5 tqms which is chipped with Neuspeed + RamAir. 8000 miles on car.
I normally do not do it 'cos I hate to abuse the clutch that bad. I measure hp, but I did it this time, just for the heck of it. Used Gtech-pro.
I had about 10 0-60-0 runs, with some cool down time between runs. My times started at 8.05 and were progressively improving as I got the hang of it. The technique: wind engine to 4000, release clutch quite agressively and floor gas at the same time. Then just leave it there until 3rd gear runs out.
Anyways, my best runs were: 7.2, 7.27, 7.27 and 7.32.
Car is heavy (quattro, sunroof, CD, no bose). 1/3 tank.
My best 0-60 with the stock car was 8.25 a few months ago. So Neuspeed gets you about 1 second off. Good driver could get as low as 7.1 I think.
This is pretty consistent with Christian J. Long's results. He reports 7.9 stock 6.9 chipped on a FWD no sunroof (i.e. light) car.
