Took two days--and supposedly 7 hours of labor--but I now finally have a new dash, with just a few days left on my warranty. By the way, they said that once they got it off they could determine that the failure was more widespread than had been visible. Of course, these are the same guys who tried to glue down the loose piece of vinyl the first time.
Unfortunately, the dealer now has to replace my radio. They say it had a defective mounting tab (or some such). I'm guessing they broke it somehow while replacing my dash. They also didn't get the wood trim that wraps around the climate control and radio back on correctly. It's loose, not flush at the top, and I can't figure out what's supposed to hold it in. Anybody know if there are supposed to be tabs up there or something? Maybe they broke those off too...
richard b
96 2.8 QM
