I have only had my Silver 1.8T for 5 months now and it has been keyed twice. Just over a month ago I took my car into the shop to get most of the driver's die of the car painted. Just this last thursday, someone decided to key the other side of the car, near the gas tank. I park in a covered parking garage at work and at home, but this makes twice now at work, someone has taken a key to my Silver paint. This paint work is starting to get very expensive. <br>I have been planning on doing some mods to mar car (!Avantegarde Design S, I think) but I am trouble be the fact that this will probably result in more random vandalism towards my little A4.<p>Just blowing off steam.....<p>98.5 Silver 1.8T (no mods yet??)

That's always been my greatest fear every time I go into nyc or someplace "foreign". I've been lucky so far...knock on wood. My car too is almost 5 months old. I was also planning on eventually getting the A! Avantgarde System S body kit after seeing Cathleen's car pics. Good luck to you.<br>Jason

I may try a car cover, but that seems like a huge pain, considering that this is the car I commute in everyday. Sometimes it makes me wish that I had bought a peice of junk....<br>

I'm really sorry to hear about your car. I always fear that these teenage kids in my neighborhood who are kind of unruly will do something to my car. I am a true paranoid about it. I got so panicky when some highschool boys were playing football and throwing hail-Mary passes near my car parked on the street one day. Once the ball just missed hitting my car by a few feet. I got in my car and drove it around to the back of my townhouse just to get it out of the way. I must be getting old 'cause I wanted to yell at these kids but then I thought, oh they'll do it harm for sure if I do that!<br>Have you contacted the police at all about the vandals? I wonder if they would put a stake out in an unmarked car nearby your car to see if they can catch them. Probably not, but it was a thought. Don't you just wish you had that feature "Q" put on James Bond's Bimmer in 'Tomorrow Never Dies', the one that can shock the heck out of whoever touches your car? At least only one egg, but the shell scratched a little explosion circle on the door where it hit. At least its near another scratch that I already needed to get taken care of. Nothing too major, but of course I'll always know its there... :-(
