OK,
in the last forum, mark from canada said he got a hold of some PIAA H7's for his a4. i talked to PIAA last week, phone # 503.643.7422 in beaverton, oregon, and they said no h7's and no plans to make them. they do make the xtra bulb for the h1's, but not the h7's. talked to NOPI, NEUSPEED, and GREEDSPEED and they said not h7's also...talked to a tech at OVERLANDER, an SUV parts place that is a hugh PIAA retailer, and their tech who owns a 90 quattro coupe said the product does not exist...he said he will reconfirm what PIAA told me over the phone when he goes to SEMA later this week. SO, my question is this, if they do exist, please post a number and name so we can all get our hands on them. my euro bosch lights are looking for a better bulb...
joe s.
1.8TQMS wett1.0/brullen/k&n/etc...
I also called and e-mailed every place i could find on the net today, probably about 10 places and everyone had the same answer-no they dont exist and there are no plans for them. So what to do. The best thing I have found so far are Wagner Xenon Brite lite bubls which are a bulb made by an american company similar to PIAA. But I havent seen them yet. I checked out a few net references and they seem to be pretty good, most forums recommended them for their particualr application as a good upgrade. These are NOT World Light junk. But I do not yet know if they are available in H7 format. So could anyone please give som info on what bulb upgrades are available for H7.
Thanks,
Chris

The PIAA H7 Super Bright White bulbs do exist because i have put them in 4 A4's and my own Boxster! Plus, the H1 PIAA super bright whites are available for the A4 fog lights..... where to get them? well, PIAA North America does not have them because the supply for them in Japan are very limited..... that is why the PIAA North America was never shipped any..... There are ppl who ship them over from Japan and they usually cost around $110 cdn..... They are at least 1 time brigher than stock and with the fog ones changed 2 times brighter!

Most of them are not dealing with PIAA, and instead have sources directly from Japan. Anyone who deals with PIAA in North America will not even have these bulbs listed.
I didn't think people had the H7's already though.
Not gonna waste my money on these bulbs for use with my N.A. spec headlights though.
Later,
James Wu
A4 Club of Vancouver
1998 Black/Onyx 1.8tqa

A4 Club of Vancouver

I still can't understand why aren't there any Bulbs Upgrades for my A4. Can someone please explain the lack of replacment bulbs for the A4 (U.S)? It seems that my lease will be over before someone finally makes a replacment bulb. This sucks. If I had a Honda The choices would be endless. The bulb upgrade isn't for style. My A4 headlights suck. I've had them adjusted twice at the dealer. They beam only lights up the road about 15-20 feet in front of my car. It's like a Spot Light that pointed straight at the ground in front of my car. Everything else other than the Spotlight Is completly dark. I have to drive very slow at night because of the headlights. Tonight I'm going to attempt to adjust them myself. What I'm going to do is Adjust the beam all the way to the sky, Then I'm going to work my way back down. Wish me luck.

is it true that changing the bulbs can easily fry the wiring for the lights?
I have the chip and k&n filter. How do you like the exhaust? Power/mileage gains? Sound?
I think you need to upgrade the wires when you go to a higher wattage, but I think the Super white bulbs supposed to requires less power and run cooler...
Dmak

You've said there are people (or companies) that ship these from Japan. Can you please be more specific (name and contact info)?
I'd really like to give it a try. If you don't want to post this info, send me an email.
Regards,
Andrei Dacu.
