I posted a message about 2 weeks ago concerning a pulsating feel coming from my Quattro. Everyone replied back saying it is messed up and to take it in and have the CV joints checked. Not that I disagree but my dealer says everything is fine and my Quattro is just louder than most.
I find it strange that none of the Q's I have driven, don't make a sound and no one here has claimed to have this problem. So I am confused. Do I have a problem or not? Here are the symptoms:
When I turn the wheel fairly sharp and start driving, You can feel something puslate and you can hear it as well. The sound is very muffled and the vibration is more prevelant. It is consistent and I beleive it is equal if you turn right or left. I appreciate your comments.
PS-only 5K on the car.
98.5 1.8TQtS

I don't believe you have a problem. I have two A4's (96 & 98) and they both do this sort of thing in a very tight turn. It is just the Quattro telling you it is there. If you do the same thing on a slippery surface (snow or sand) you won't notice a thing because then the torque transfer will just cause a bit of extra wheel slippage. On a sticky surface (concrete or asphalt) the energy goes into stressing the suspension and drive pieces. But the parts are made to take it, so it is not a problem.

I've owned 3 Audis in the past including my A4. They all do that, it's just the quattro system at work. Don't worry about it.
Mine does the same thing. It's a 99 2.8QM. Only seems to do it at very low speed with the wheel turn to or almost to the locks. Similar to jeeps that I've had. No to worry.
At very extreme steering wheel positions, your power steering system may pulsate as well, exacerbating what seems to be normal quattro operation.

I think I replied back telling you this was normal, anyway that is what I have been told. At extreme steering angles and at slow speeds you will hear/feel a pulsating sensation.
