1. I live in the Los Angeles area, can anybody recommend a dealer that gives resonable prices??
2. I have heard that a good price to shoot for is $1000 over invoice. Is this possible??
3. I have heard a lot about the Wetturaur chip. 50hp gain?? WOW. Does it void my warranty?? Does it produce a considerable amount of stress on the engine, enough to effect the lifespan?? How much is it and where can i get it in la??
Thanks, I'm pretty excited.
Scott

I also live in the L.A. area. The Van Nuys dealership is a good choice. They are actually owned by VW of America and therefore the salesman are not really working on commissions. Therefore, there is no pressure sales. Just go in there armed with all the info you can get from the internet and stick to your guns and be confident in the accuracy of the data you have.
As far as the chipping issue: the archives of this site are loaded to the hilt with info on this topic which has been discussed from every angle. Do a search and you will find what you are looking for.
Good luck
I just re-ordered a 99.5 1.8T with Quattro. I live in Houston (used to live in Ventura and Playa del Rey). I got the dealer down to $1,320 over invoice (~5.57%). I felt I received a good deal. Now, only if the car arrives before the 2000's come out (due June 13th)...(BTW, I ordered it with Quattro, the Sports package, Sunroof, and the trip cpu.) I plan on upgrading my stereo and speakers later with a removable faceplate Alpine in dash CD, ADS speakers and McIntosh amps...Good Luck with yours!
