please don't tell me to read the archive just because my post includes the word "chip", i've wasted enough time sifting through the haystack of misinformation. SO, HAS ANYONE WITH A CHIPPED A4 PUT OVER 25,000 OR 30,000 ON THEIR CAR *SINCE THEY GOT IT CHIPPED*? if so, can you please post your opinion on LONG-TERM reliability/driveability
Thanks a lot
Mark
I have a connection to Wetterauer so some people may feel this is a bit biased:
There are several 1.8T Wetterauer chipped cars in Germany with over 180000km (chipped) on them and no problem.
Marko Litmanen
A3 1.8T Wett 1.0 Beta
I have a wett chip in a tip 1.8 with 34,000 miles I chipped the car at 2,000 miles I have not had any problems with the chip Nor have I had problems
with the dealer as far as service. I am very happy with the chip Once I get past the warranty I might change the turbo to get the extra 35 hp

Since you didn't specify...I'll give the 2.8 perspective. I have a 2.8 Wett chip that I put in around 10K miles (I think). I now have 39K miles with no problems.
- Josh
- '98 A4q 2.8

I went to a chip with 2.5K on the car, and I have 27K on it now, unfortunately it's only a year old, but what can I say, I really like to drive it. I've also changed the turbo to a K04 and made a ton of other changes. You can check the archives if you like (:-).
Anyway, short of a couple of little issues with performance tweaks on the chip, I've had 0 problems, the dealer if very chip friendly and told me to leave it in instead of change it back to stock when I take it in.
If I had to figure, the turbo went on at about 5K miles, so it's well worn as well!
Alan
