my thermostat was marked in degrees fahrenheit as opposed to the original one which was in centigrade. it looked like it was not made by the same company.<p>i question the need for the thermostat as it didn't change my engine's operating temp in the least, but it was a pain to change since the coolant had to be drained and changing out the fan switch was another pain until i unsnapped the lower radiator connection and doused myself in coolant yet again. <p>good luck, the increase in power is nice!

i don't think so. you may spill just a few drops since there isn't much pressure in the line and also, it is very small. there is a soft hose running to the coolant line which you can clamp to keep the loss minimal. i looked at don p's page and it doesn't mention anything about having to drain the coolant. hth
