Has anyone found a solution to the squeaky clutch? Dropped off my car at the dealer today, and he said that it was a known problem with no solution. I can't believe that, it is extremely annoying.<p>I searched the archives, and the only info was that one tech in Scottsdale replaced the plastic on metal connection with metal on metal.<p>I hope Audi thinks that this is an important problem.<p>Rick K 96 A4 2.8M

My problem only started about two weeks ago. Just as I engage the clutch, I hear this squeak/groan like sound that seems to be coming from under the hood. It sounds almost as if it is a suspension member which needs oiled, but it ONLY occurs when I let out on the clutch. Is this the problem you are describing?<p>Thanks,<br>Wesley R. The sound is coming from the clutch linkage, like something that needs to be lubed (creeking sound). The noise seems to come from inside the car rather than from under the hood, but might be described that way. It happens every time I push the pedal in.<p>The dealer immediately knew what I was talking about, and when he heard the clutch he said that several others have the same problem as well. He told me that there was no known fix, but that Audi was aware of it.<p>If your squeak is the same as mine, it will get on your nerves shortly.<p>Rick K

I was also getting a squeak when operating the clutch, but it was actually the SEAT that was squeaking as my weight shifted on it. They greased the seat track and the problem went away.<p> Doug G<br> 98 1.8TQM

The sound I hear is when I engage (let out on) the clutch while in gear, not when I push the pedal in. Oh well...I'll follow it for a while, and if it doesn't get any better, I'll see the dealer about it. Thanks for the info.<p>Wesley Walls<br>'98 1.8TMS
