On a blustery day last week, a plastic shopping bag was blown under the car and wrapped itself around the exhaust pipe. First sign of it was evil-smelling fumes of unknown origin in the car and, even more, outside the car, when warmed up. I couldn't see anything, but my wife figured it out from my description of the problem. She was able to dislodge the bag, but there are still some pieces adhering to the pipe, still giving off some fumes. Is there a serious fire danger here?
Shouldn't be a fire hazard. Get your car up on a jack and scrape it off...Good luck...I too had that happen once...Even had a cat stuck under there once in my lowered Acura Integra. :)
1.8TMS Neuspeed
This happened to me on an Acura. Not much you can do but wait 'till it all melts off. The melted bag will never completely dissapear but the smell should be gone in a short while. No problem with fire.
