I made these billet aircraft aluminum exhaust tips in my cnc machine shop. What do you think? E-mail me if you are interested. They are 6061 Aluminum and they are anodized for corrosion protection. They are held on by a stainless steel bolt. No cutting or welding is required. I should have a price by 3/4/99. The more I make the cheaper they get.
Thanks
Wow,
They look great. Could you let me know as well what the price may be. I'm definitely interested. Out of curiosity (if you didn't see my other post), do you think you could make them in a square format, also? Please let me know. I'd be willing to pay alittle more for them, as well.
Phil.
98 2.8
I had an Integra, and the exhaust tips bolted 'into' the exhaust in the sense that the bolt screwed into the pipe, creating enough pressure to hold on the tips. This worked great, until the exhaust pipe began to rust and the tips began to rattle. The bolt had completely rusted, so I couldn't take it off, and the corrosion on the exhaust pipe kept me from sliding the tip off.
Is this the method of attaching these tips?
Yes, they are held on the same way, but the materials are different. My tips are anodized aluminum, the set screw that holds the tip is stainless steel, and the A4's stock tips are also stainless steel. All 3 materials will not rust. So when you get your next A4, you can put them on it.
Thanks for the question.

Even though each metal in of themselves will not rust (but all metals corrode, galvanic action occurs between dissimilar metals, some faster than others. Not that in this case its an issue unless you're going to keep the original exhaust system longer than 50 years :).
FYI
